Leg-spinner Shoaib Khalid dominated as Peshawar beat Lahore by six wickets to win Inter-Region U13 Tournament in Faisalabad on Friday.
The final contest between Peshawar and Lahore was reduced to 12 overs per side due to persistent rain and a west outfield.
While batting first, Lahore were bowled out for paltry 50 runs. Only opening batter Inshal Chaudhary managed to score into double figures. He scored scored 16 off 21 balls including two boundaries.
Peshawar's 12-year-old Shoaib bagged six wickets for seven runs in three overs.
In return, Peshawar achieved the target in the 10th over losing four wickets to lift the trophy.
For Lahore, captain Mohammad Yaqoob Khan was the most successful bowler with match figures of three for 21 from three overs.
The winning side pocketed PKR 350,000 as the winning prize. Runners-up Lahore bagged PKR 250,000.
Dera Murad Jamali’s Shees Qadir was named best player of the tournament for scoring 170 runs and 10 wickets in the tournament. He was awarded a trophy and cash prize of PKR 30,000.
